Beðið við gluggann

Beðið við gluggann is a collection that seeks to create a sustainable and plastic free herb garden at home. The beauty of porcelain is highlighted in the simplicity of the design while drainage holes on the bottom ensure that no additional plastic pots are needed to hold the soil, making them ideal for any kind of flowers and plants.

Lava from the recent volcanic activity in Fagradalsfjall is applied to the porcelain and the resulting appearance brings the pots to life in a distinct way. Also included in the collection is a vase that can be used to keep stem cuttings or to water the plants, adding to the overall utility of the whole. The design encourages mindfulness while offering countless options to arrange different pots in various ways, therefore inspiring each individual to create their unique work of art in the home.

The collection was exhibited at Design March 2024 at the Reykjavík Art Museum, Hafnarhúsið. It’s a part of the exhibition Utility and Contentment which consisted of nine graduate students in ceramics from the Reykjavík Visual School of Arts.
